or potty learning in the case of EC...
Our whole system has been thrown for a loop since our tried and true hold-over-the-sink-method is no longer an option in the RV. I'm concerned about poop (even water soluble breastmilk poop) getting into the grey water tank so all pottying has to be done on the toilet so that it goes into the black water tank.
Adelaide has been refusing to go on her little potty or on the potty seat reducer or being held above the potty. Some of the only catches we are making are first thing in the morning when she can't help but let out her pee/poo from the night before. But this morning we even missed a poo in the morning (leaked all over her and the bed) which never happens. I'm hoping that things get easier once we get more settled in but right now I'm turning to disposable diapers more often and just trying to breathe deep. Any tips are welcome!
Unfortunately I don't have any EC tips, but keep taking those deep breaths! There's a lot of change going on right now and that can take some time to get used to. I'm sure everything will be easier once y'all have spent more time in your new home and have the new routine down! That goes for your dog too. :) For what it's worth, I think you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry she is having a hard time with the change. We have more issues when we travel, too. Usually by day 3 of being away from home, we are back on track.
ReplyDeleteSo she misses her sink? Can you put a bucket or bowl in the sink so it's a familiar position for her? Can you put a mirror or some Mylar on the toilet lid for her to check out her reflection?
the bucket in the sink idea is fantastic! unfortunately the mirror is too high above the sink for her to see in but maybe I can install another mirror down low. I've tried to do the mirror on the toilet lid but she just plays with it since it's within her reach unlike the one over the sink was. Thanks for the idea - I'll let you know how it works out! It's so frustrating it's been two days of her not using the potty even for poos!
ReplyDeleteYou are responsive to her needs so I know you will come up with a solution that suits Miss A. Hang in there!
